Why Paulo Dybala will not play in the Supercoppa Italiana

Argentine and Juventus playmaker, Paulo Dybala is set to miss the Supercoppa Italiana which is to be played against Napoli on Wednesday, 20th January, 2021 by 9pm after injury on his ligament.

Dybala who had been starting upfront with Cristiano Ronaldo in Andrea Pirlo’s two striker set up has recently sustained a minor injury which would keep him on the sidelines for weeks.

This follows similar injury stories for Juventus who have had the burgeoning Chiesa out with injury after scoring two goals in their recent massive victory against AC Milan, also leading goal scorer Alvaro Morata who had been partnering Cristiano Ronaldo upfront is also out on injury, though expected to return soon.

Paulo Dybala’s injury was confirmed by Juventus, who stated this in their official website, saying, “This morning. Paulo Dybala underwent diagnostic investigations at J | medical which revealed a low-grade lesion of the medial collateral ligament of the left knee with recovery times of approximately 15/20 days.”

Juventus would be hoping for no further injury amongst the squad while being thankful that Dybala would still feature in their Champions league game against FC Porto on 17th February.
