Xiaomi as expected today has officially launched Mi Max, the company’s first phablet to runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and also the first phablet to use MIUI 8. It sports a sleek metal unibody that measure just 7.5mm at its thickest point while boasting a hefty weight of 203 grams. Its lead weight however is well compensate for with gigantic 4850mAh (typical)/ 4760mAh battery it packs behind. The phone features a 6.44-inch 2.5D curved display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution, touting a pixel density of 356ppi and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The Mi Max comes in three different versions, the first packs a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage, the second version an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the third version is also powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, but harbours 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. All the three versions has hybrid dual SIM slots that allows the second SIM slot to be use as a MicroSD card slot, and fingerprint sensors at the back for authentication.

In photography, the phablet sports a 16-megapixel camera at the rear with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus and twin-tone LED flash, while it harbours a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens camera with f/2.0 aperture at the front. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11ac (dual-band + MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS and GLONASS. The Xiaomi Mi Max comes in Gold, Light Grey and Silver colours.

- Xiaomi Mi Max with Snapdragon 652 + 3GB RAM + 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1699 ($260 USD)
- Xiaomi Mi Max with Snapdragon 652 + 4GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at CNY 1999 ($306 USD)
It will be available for pre-order starting today (Tuesday) in China and will go on sale from 17th of May. No word on availability outside China.
