Xiaomi may announce a new Redmi series in India this week according to new report that surface during the weekend. The Redmi 2 Prime as named was launched in China few months ago but it seems the smartphone may start shipping in India very soon.

The device along with its specifications was listed on eBay.in but quickly removed, unfortunately, fellow geeks out there has their hand on it before time was reversed. In comparison, the Redmi 2 Prime and Redmi 2 specifications are almost identical, the differences that seperate both are the first has 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage while the later comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. Other specifications remains the same.

It features 4.7-inch IPS display with a HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, flaunting a pixel density of 312ppi. The smartphone offers dual-SIM (Micro) functionality with dual-standby and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box topped with MIUI 6.0.

Under the hood, the Redmi 2 Prime is driven by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz alongside with Adreno 306 GPU. An 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash is equipped at the rear while a 2-megapixel camera is placed at the front. On the connectivity fronts, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime support 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G (HSPA+), 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 2,200mAh battery with fast charging.
