Western Digital ahead of IFA 2017 that is scheduled to begin later this week has unveiled a new 20TB external storage desktop drive dubbed My Book Duo, which is claimed as world’s highest storage capacity ever.

The drive offers a sequential read of up to 360MB/s via its built-in RAID-optimized WD Red hard drives. The My Book Duo is NTFS formatted out-of-the-box and is compatible for use with PC running Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and Windows 7 operating system. However, reformatting is required for other OS i.e Ubuntu.
Connectivity included are USB 3.1 Type-C port (compatible with 3.0) and two USB Type-A ports, with free USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables included in the package. The drive is secured with 256-bit AES encryption on hardware level and it also comes with password protection, a needed feature for securing files and data. It also has auto and system backup.
Pre-installed softwares includes WD Discovery, WD Backup, WD Security, and WD Drive utilities. The MyBook Duo is offered in 16TB, 12TB, 8TB, 6TB and 4TB storage capacities as well.
