1. Flushing the toilet while the lid is up
Tiny particles of feces and urine can fly as high as 6 feet away from the toilet bowl during each flush. Always make sure to close the lid before you flush to keep those gross particles in your toilet and out of the air.

2. Placing the toilet brush back into its holder immediately after use
Germs and moisture breed every time you put a toilet brush back into its holder right after each use. After using the brush, clean it with clean water and allow it to dry completely so as to avoid scrubbing the same bacteria back into the toilet the next time you use it.

3. Sitting on the toilet too long
People tend to use their toilet time o read books, magazines or even scroll through social media. Sitting on the toilet for too long can cause hemorrhoids which usually cause rectal bleeding. This is because the seated position places a lot of pressure on the veins in your lower rectum which can either swell or bulge.

4. Forgetting to clean your toothbrush
About 10 million germs and bacteria live on the average toothbrush. Due to this reason, it is always good to thoroughly rinse your toothbrush after each use. It is also advisable to soak your toothbrush in vinegar occasionally for about 30 minutes to get rid of any leftover bacteria. It is also necessary to change your toothbrush every 3 months.

5. Over Wiping
The number one rule of wiping is “Less Is More”. One or two wipes are usually what you need after using the toilet. Wiping too much can irritate your anus with friction and cause small abrasions that trigger inflammations and itching. If you need to wipe more, then use wet toilet paper or an unscented baby wipe.
