Since the official release of Google’s Android Wear 2.0 operating system earlier this year, we’ve seen a little spark in smartwatch sector, not only from popular brands that are known to dominate the wearable world but also from industries operating in different fields. The latest company to join the bandwagon unexpectedly is Verizon, one of the major network provider in the United States.

The Wear24 as called, is Verizon in-house wrist-worn that is meant for Verizon subscribers only. It features a 1.39-inch Circular AMOLED display with a pixel density of 290ppi. The network carrier does not revealed the watch pixel resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, coupled with 768MB of RAM and 4GB ROM.

With Android Wear 2.0 onboard, the watch can be paired with smartphones running Android 4.3 and later or iOS 9 and later to receive incoming text, call, and other notifications. The OS also gives users one way ticket to lots of watch faces available on Play Store and direct music streaming on Google Play Music. Google Assistant is not left out to tend to users urgent needs on their wrists.

The Wear24 is waterproof and dustproof with IP67 rating and can survive in up to 3.3 feet deep of water for 30 minutes. It comes with built-in LTE and packs a 450mAh battery with fast charging supports.

Verizon is offering the smartwatch for US$299.99 with two years contract or US$349.99 off-contract. It will be available from 11th of May in Rose Gold, Stainless Steel, and Gunmetal Black colours.
