Sony SF-G Series UHS-II SD Card

Sony today has pulled off the curtains over its latest SF-G series of SD cards with UHS-II (Ultra High Speed 2) which the company is touting as world’s fastest SD card as at now. The new Sony SF-G SD card series ranging from 32GB to 128GB storage capacities boasts a write speed of up to 299MB/s and a read speed of up to 300MB/s.

Primarily aimed at professional photographer and videographer, the SD card is waterproof, shock-proof, X-ray proof, and temperature resistant from -25ºC to 85ºC. It also offers Class-10 SD Speed Class and Class-3 UHS Speed Class. Notably, the new SD card is also compatible with UHS-I devices.

Sony also made available a special software dubbed “File Rescue” in retrieving lost or deleted files and data such as pictures and videos stored on the memory card.

While commenting on the launch, Sony said:

“The quick write speed supports maximum performance of digital imaging devices, contributing to longer continuous shooting of high-resolution images with UHS-II supporting cameras. It also contributes to a shorter buffer clearing time so users never miss a critical moment.”

The Sony SF-G UHS-II series SD card will be available in Spring 2017. No details on pricing yet.
