With the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC case still ongoing and hot on the mouth of people, more allegations on financial fraud continues to be exposed. A recipient of the scholarship program earmarked by the NDDC, Emmanuel Ogolo has accused the NDDC of using the scholarship as a coverup to embezzle funds. Emmanuel Ogolo spoke to a radio station in Rivers State, Nigeria Info, he explained how he got very tired, trying to raise funds to go study abroad after NDDC constantly refused to handover the money both for his school fees and travel allowance. He said he got fed up to the point where he lost his admission to the school. Emmanuel Ogolo went on to say that the staff of the NDDC use the scholarship scheme as a way to steal the money that is supposed to be for students who gained admission to study abroad.
The Former Governor of Kano State Rab’iu Kwankwaso, however, stated that he had to resign from the NDDC in 2010 because of the numerous amount of corruption being practiced in the commission. He revealed this over the weekend. He said that his refusal to partake in the corrupt practices going on in NDDC made him resign. He stated the cause of corruption in NDDC as being greedy government officials desperate to amass wealth for themselves. The greediness and desperation led to the corruption that is now in the open for everyone to see.

You should know that the financial system of the NDDC is currently being probed by the House of Reps committee set up to investigate the allegations of financial mismanagement and fraud in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The Former Managing Director of the NDDC had earlier accused the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, an allegation his dismissed as a ploy to tarnish his image. Akpabio had also said that contracts were given to lawmakers and he has been asked to list the names of those lawmakers that benefitted from the contracts.
