Oppo on Friday launched a new mid-budget smartphone under its “A” series in China named A59. It sports a full metal unibody that measures 154.5 x 76 x 7.38mm, and weigh 160 grams. On the front sits a 5.5-inch IPS 2.5D curve glass display with a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels, while a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz powered it on the inside, coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T860 GPU.
There is a 32GB of built-in storage onboard that can be expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The Oppo A59 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and supports hybrid dual SIM slots. It also harbours a fingerprint sensor at the front below the display for smart security and biometric authentication. A 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF is equipped at the rear, accompanied with a LED flash, and a secondary 8-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfie.

In connectivity aspect, the phone supports Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi with Hotspot, 4G LTE + VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and USB with OTG. It is fuelled by a 3075mAh battery.
The Oppo A59 comes in Gold and Rose Gold colour options. It is available for pre-orders on the company online store at a price of CNY 1799 ($274 USD), and will start shipping from 18th of June. Availability outside China is uncertain.
