Samsung today announced its latest fitness tracker and heart rate monitor under its Gear series,the Gear Fit2. The wrist band sports a 1.5-inch curve Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 216×432 pixels that lets users view detailed information about their activities in real-time. The device can track steps, run, walk, jump and other recreational activities, and it also comes with a standalone music player that let users listen to music when paired with their smartphone through Samsung Gear application available for Android, thanks to Bluetooth 4.2 wireless connectivity onboard.
Apart from tracking various recreational activities, the Gear Fit2 has a built-in GPS that further helps track distance, speed, and pace during an exercise. Heart rate sensor included monitors heartbeat and pulse, and it is waterproof and dustproof certified with IP68 rating, making it capable of surviving up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meters deep of water.

Technically, the Gear Fit2 is powered by an 1.0GHz dual-core processor, coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It runs Samsung-owned Tizen operating system, and comes with Accelerometer, Barometer and Gyro sensors. It is backed by a 200mAh battery.
The Samsung Gear Fit2 is priced at $179 USD. It will be available in Blue, Pink, and Black colours when it go on sale next week.
