The Korean tech giant, Samsung, today has launched a “Pro” variant of its Galaxy A9 smartphone, with a more powerful processor, higher RAM, and an enhanced rear camera. While its official pricing is not revealed, the phone is listed on China e-commerce website Tmall with a price tag of CNY 3499 ($540 USD). Availability for international markets is unknown.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro features a 6-inch Super AMOLED 2.5D curve glass display with full-HD (1920×1080 pixel) resolution, flaunting a pixel density of 367ppi. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor of unknown clockspeed, coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It includes a 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

The Galaxy A9 Pro runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and support dual-SIM (nano + nano) functionality. A fingerprint sensor is located beneath the physical home button for smart security and authorization. In photography, the device bears a 16-megapixel camera at the rear with f/1.9 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization and LED flash, which is an upgrade from 13MP camera featured on previous version. An 8-megapixel camera is equipped at the front for taking selfie.
Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, NFC and ANT+. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging unlike 4000mAh battery that backed the standard version. The phone comes in White, Gold and Rose Gold colour options.
