Sony in October last year listed out its Xperia smartphones that will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The company today has started rolling out the update for Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium series globally according to information reaching us (via).
The update brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA (over-the-air) to device listed above with firmware build number 32.1.A.1.163. Xperia Z3+ (exclusive to Korea) and Xperia Z4 are also confirmed to be receiving the update, with Wifi variant SGP712, LTE variant SGP771 and E6553 models taking the lead.

The latest update brings Doze, privacy settings, app permission, new home launcher and other Marshmallow native features. However, the new update is said not to include Google security patches for February 2016. In addition, Sony does not include STAMINA mode within the update.
To receive it, users will need to enable auto update or manually check under Settings -> About Phone. It may take some time before the update reaches all sides, depending on network carrier, model, and region.
