Microsoft today has introduced the second edition of its Wireless Display Adapter (WDA) that will allow people to mirror contents on their smartphone or laptop screen directly to an external display using Miracast technology. The newly announced Wireless Display Adapter is more compact in size and costs lesser than the first edition that was released by the firm in 2014.
Using WDA is simple and it requires no technical skills. The device has a HDMI mouth that fit directly into the input-HDMI port at the back (or side) of HDMI-enabled display such as Monitor, Projector and TV, while the second USB mouth is plug into a USB port for powering the device. Contents can be stream directly from a miracast-enabled smartphone, tablet, or laptop to an external display without internet connection, at a maximum image/video resolution of 1920×1080 pixels with support for two-channel stereo and 5.1 surround sound audio output.

The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter 2016 edition is available for pre-orders in the U.S and Canada at BestBuy, Microsoft Store, and Amazon at a price of $49.95 USD. It will start shipping from the 1st of March.
