Kyocera in partnership with Kidi has introduced a new budget smartphone in Japan dubbed Digno Rafre, which the company claims can be bath and wash with soap without any adverse effect. The Digno Rafre body is made of a special material that doesn’t react with soap, and can also withstand a hot bath with water as hot as 43-degree. Waterproof protection in most smartphones may have given people privilege to slightly wash-off dirt, but Digno Rafre pushes the boundary further with soap cleaning and it is the world’s first smartphone to offer such.

Besides its extraordinary body that is non-reacting with soap organic chemical properties, the device is also waterproof and dustproof certified with IPX8/IP5X rating and has a scratch-proof Dragontrail X glass for extra protection. The glass covers the main 5-inch TFT LCD display, flaunting a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU.
The Kyocera Digno Rafre runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and has a single SIM slot with support of 4G LTE. At the rear, it packs a 13-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, while it houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Other connectivity options included besides 4G LTE are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.
The Kyocera Digno Rafre measures 71 × 141 × 10.1mm and weight just 155 grams. It will be available starting this week in Japan at a price of JPY 57,240 ($464 USD).
