Samsung on Friday unleashed a new affordable smartphone in India, Galaxy J2, few weeks after launching Galaxy J1 Ace. The device will be available starting from 21st of September in all retailers outlets with a price tag of Rs 8,490 (US$132). However, global availability is not mentioned.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with qHD (960 x 540 pixel) resolution. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with a clock speed of 1.3GHz slammed with 1GB of RAM. There is an 8GB of built-in storage onboard which is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

The Galaxy J2 offers dual SIM (Micro) functionality and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash at the rear, while a 2-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture is placed at the front. Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G LTE, 3G (HSPA+), GPRS/EDGE, GPS, and Micro-USB. It is turn on by a 2,000mAh battery.
Notably, the Samsung Galaxy J2 comes with an ultra saving data mode powered by Opera Max that saves up to 50% of data across all contents, programs and apps that makes use of phone internet. It can also be use to block certain applications from accessing the internet.
