Microsoft Announces Nokia 222, 222 Dual SIM Internet-Enabled Handsets

The Redmond tech giant Microsoft has just announced a new basic handset, Nokia 222, an affordable internet-enabled phone without smartphone functionality. The device comes in two variants, single SIM version and dual SIM version, with a starting price of $37 USD (#7,500 NGN). Both variant will start shipping globally in September.

The Nokia 222 features a 2.4-inch LCD display with QVGA (320*240 pixel) resolution and comes with a traditional T9 keypad . It has MicroSD card slot, Internet browser, and packs a 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera at the back. It comes pre-loaded with Opera Mini, MSN Weather, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, GroupME by Skype and Bing search applications. The Nokia 222 runs Nokia Series S30+ with support of Java applications.

Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 3.0, GPRS/EDGE, FM radio and Micro-USB. The handset can be connect to PC via USB to browse the net, manage multimedia files using Nokia PC Suite. A 1100mAh removable battery turn it on.
