Along with Galaxy Note5 that was announced today, Samsung also launched a more powerful upgrade version of its Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone that has been rumoured for a while, the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It will be available for pre-orders starting from today August 14 and will go on sale on August 21. Its pricing details has been confirmed for US region but we are yet to know what it might cost globally.
US major network carrier T-Mobile and AT&T has revealed their pricing for the device. T-Mobile is offering 32GB version of Galaxy S6 Edge+ at $779.99 contract fee including 1yr free Netflix subscription if customers order one before August 20. AT&T on the other hand is offering Galaxy S6 Edge+ on its Next 12, 18 and 24 plans, and allows customer to swap it with their old device for up to $200 while those who have U-verse or DIRECTTV and migrate to AT&T are eligible to get $300 bill credit. The 32GB version of Galaxy S6 Edge+ cost $814.99 without contract and 64GB at $914.99.

In comparison with Galaxy S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+ is thicker and heavier, measuring 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9mm and bearing a weight of 153 gram, which is 21 gram more hefty. Also, its display, RAM and battery capacity has been greatly increased.
Specwise, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ features a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 518ppi pixel density just like Galaxy Note5 but has two additional edge screen placed at both side of the display, all protected on top with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 (4-core 2.1GHz Cortex A57 + 4-core 1.5GHz Cortex A53) processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, thats an additional 1GB RAM compare to 3GB RAM on S6 Edge.
The smartphone packs a 16-megapixel autofocus camera with optical image stabilization, f/1.9 aperture and LED flash at the rear while a secondary 5-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture is placed at the front. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ sports a fingerprint scanner below the physical home button for smart security, authentication and mobile payment (Samsung Pay). It is also equipped with a heart-rate monitor at the back. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE Cat.6 (up to 300Mbps), Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, 3G HSPA+, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery with quick charge and wireless charging support.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium, White Pearl and Black Sapphire colors.
