Having launched Axon Pro exclusively in US last week, ZTE has again go further by announcing two new high-budget smartphones under its Axon series in China, Axon Lux and Axon. Unlike Pro version, the new two device heads first to China with each wearing a price cap of CN¥ 3,888 (approx $626 USD) and CN¥ 2,699 ($435 USD) respectively. Global availability is not detailed.
The ZTE Axon Lux specifications is almost identical with Axon Pro when compared, the differences that seperate the two is the first has a built-in storage of 128GB (expandable up to 128GB), Fingerprint scanner at the back, Eyeprint ID, and runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with MiFavor 3.2 UI while the later only packs a 32GB of internal storage and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. All other specifications remain the same.

The Axon Lux features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) TFT LCD display protected with a more enhanced Corning Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass . It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (4-core 1.5GHz + 4-core 2.0GHz) processor slammed with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 430 GPU.
The device houses a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with dual-LED flash accompanied by another 2-megapixel camera for measuring depth, while it is equipped with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens camera at the front. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K (2560p) videos while the front camera can record scene in full-HD (1080p). Connectivity options included are Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE Cat.6, 3G HSPA+, 2G, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
On the other hand, the ZTE Axon is quite not up to the level of the first but it also sports decent specifications. The display and processor remains the same but it includes a lower 3GB of RAM instead of 4GB seen in others. Also, it comes with a 32GB of built-in storage just like Axon Pro, which is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.
Beneath the 2-megapixel depth camera placed below the main 13-megapixel primary camera is a fingerprint scanner for additional security and smart authentication. The ZTE Axon also comes with Eyeprint ID, a unique technology that make use of the front camera to capture iris pattern of the eye for unlocking without using password. An 8-megapixel wide-angle camera is placed at the front for taking selfie. Connectivity options and battery capacity remains the same with Axon Pro and Axon Lux.
Other functionality embedded in both smartphones are dual-SIM support, and a dedicated AKM 4961 audio chip for quaility Hi-Fi audio.
