Vivo has officially launched a new budget Android smartphone in China dubbed as X5 Pro. The phone has long been expected, but finally it is here, it carries a price tag of CNY 2,698 (Roughly $432 USD) while availability outside China remains hooded.
The main highlight of the device is its Eye scanner with iris scanning technology which provide additional protection for users data and files, the same found on ZTE Grand S3. It can also be use to lock and unlock the phone. The Vivo X5 Pro is wrapped in glass panel both at the front and back with its engine embezzle in aluminium frame which encompasses its side area.

The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 2.5D technology, flaunting a full-HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. It offers dual-SIM functionality and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box topped with Funtouch 3.0 UI. Under the hood, it is driven by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor slammed with 2GB of RAM.
There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card. Despite its slim design, the X5 Pro still manage to accept two SIMs at a time with both supporting 4G LTE. A 13-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash take hold of the upper rear area while it sports an 8-megapixel selfie-enabled front camera which according to the firm can interpolate picture to quality of 32-megapixels.
Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G (HSPA+), GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is fuelled by a 2300mAh battery.
Earlier this week, a new Vivo smartphone show up on TENAA named as X5Max S. Unlike X5Max+ that was launched at MWC in March, the X5Max S packs a huge 4,150mAh battery while other specifications remains the same as X5Max+. The firm is yet to confirm its existence.
