Huawei MediaPad M2 8-inch Tablet With Lollipop, 4G LTE Launched

Huawei on Monday has secretly launched a new Android tablet dubbed as MediaPad M2, with a price tag of €349 (approx $390). The device seems to be heading to France as it was showcased in Paris but there’s no word yet from the firm to confirm its availability.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 specifications is nearly identical with MediaPad X2 that was launched at MWC in March. It features an 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1200×1920 pixels and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box topped with Emotion UI 3.0.

The tablet is powered by a 64-bit octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor clocked at 2.0GHz alongside with 2GB of RAM. Notably, the MediaPad M2 offers voice calling via a dedicated SIM slot with 4G LTE support. It packs an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash at the rear while it houses a 2-megapixel front camera.

There is a 16GB of built-in storage onboard which is expandable via MicroSD card. Connectivity options included are Wifi, Bluetooth, and USB. It is backed by a 4800mAh battery.

Last week, Huawei launched two smartphones in India, Honor Bee and Honor 4C. The first is an entry-level smartphone and only cost Rs 4,999 ($80) while the later is priced at Rs 8,999 ($144).
