Galaxy XCover 3 Is Another New Mid Ranger From Samsung With Rugged Body

Samsung has steady its pace in the last few weeks and are eyeing the changes need to be made to get back on track and reclaim what has once belong to them. The firm earlier this month launched its first Tizen powered smartphone in India, the Z1, which doesn’t gain much impression and it was even criticize for lack of apps to back it up. Earlier this week, Samsung also lost its crown to Apple as top smartphone vendor, we really feel sorry for them.

Despite all the challenges they are currently facing, Samsung seems to have something new at work which they may unwrap any time soon. The phone which was first spotted by GSM Arena comes with a rough rugged body just like Galaxy S5 Active but with lower specifications. The Galaxy XCover 3 as it was called is a new mid ranger with the firm brand name stamped to its back.

On the specs front as revealed, the Galaxy XCover 3 with the model number SM-G388F will features a 4.8-inch WVGA (800*480 pixels) display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A53-U Armada PXA1908 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

On the rear, the smartphone will packs a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash while 2-megapixel front shooter is also expected to be onboard. An 8GB built-in storage will be inside to spice things up which can be expanded via MicroSD card (up to 32GB). The rugged body do hint us that it may be waterproof and dustproof certify but we wouldn’t put much hope on that.

Nothing is mentioned about connectivity options as well as battery capacity it will be boasting, we expect more details to surface as time goes on. Who knows? Samsung Galaxy XCover 3 may be launch along with Galaxy S6 at MWC, we’ll just have to wait and see.
