The Chinese phone maker Huawei, has launched a new tablet. The Honor Tablet as it is called is launched in Malaysia at a price of RM 599 (approximately $186) and can be purchase via the company’s online store. However, global availability of the device has not yet been announced
The new Huawei tablet features an 8-inch IPS display with a mid-resolution of 1280×800 pixels touting an 188ppi pixel density. It runs the dated Android 4.3 Jelly bean OS out-of-the-box overlay with the company’s custom Emotion UI.
The Honor tablet is driven by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, clocked at 1.2GHz alongside with 1GB of RAM. It houses a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a secondary VGA front camera. There’s 16GB of internal storage onboard which can be expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card.

Connectivity options included are Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, 3G, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 4800mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 300hrs of standby.
Last week, Huawei launched 4G LTE enabled Android smartphone in China, the Honor 4 Play at CNY 799 (approx $132). The phone is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon processor and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.
