The Chinese phone maker Xiaomi has launched its first Snapdragon 800 powered Android smartphone, the Mi 3, in India at a price of Rs 14,999 (approx $250). The smartphone was first launched at the end of last year. The Mi 3 runs a tweaked version of Android 4.3 Jelly bean dubbed as MIUI 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 441ppi pixel density. The smartphone doesn’t offer dual SIM functionality and comes in different colour variants. It measures 144×73.6×8.1mm and weighs 145 grams.
The Mi 3 by Xiaomi is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, slammed with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage with no external storage support.

The Xiaomi Mi 3 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, and 2-megapixel front facing camera. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080p video and comes with extra features like Touch to focus, Face and smile detection, Geo tagging, HDR and Image stabilization.
Connectivity options included with the Mi 3 are Bluetooth v4.0, 3G, WiFi 802.11ac with Hotspot, NFC, GPS and Micro-USB. Sensors included are Gyro, Proximity, Accelerometer, Compass and Barometer. It is backed by 3050mAh Non-removable battery, which is rated to deliver up to 500 hours of standby time.
The Xiaomi Mi 3 is currently listed on the company’s India website and will be available in India market starting from July 15.
