The firm make sure that every aspect of the device, both hardware and software, are enhanced for gaming. Let’s talk about the hardware first, the Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro comes with 6.67-inch and 7.1-inch OLED screen respectively, with the former boasting a Full HD+ resolution and the later a Quad-HD+ resolution. These have 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz sampling rate, the world’s first as claimed by the firm.
The high sampling rate means ulta-fast touch sampling without lagging while tapping the screen. According to the firm, the phones have single-finger touch response delay as low as 24ms, and multi-finger touch response delay as low as 28ms. The pressure sensitivity of the screen have also been improved compared to the previous generation.
Another feature worth talking about are the trigger buttons on the shoulder that have been modified to be better and more responsive, thanks to the new physical pop-up design on the Pro model that can last up to 300,000 press, but the vanilla model stick to the touch-sensitive triggers known with the Black Shark 2’s. Powering the phones is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 7nm chipset, clubbed with Adreno 650 GPU.
The chipset brings 5G connectivity and WiFi 6 aboard. The firm said it used “sandwich” liquid cooling system that is double-sided to cover the main heat source for butter-smooth lag-free experience. Software optimizations such as Black Shark GameEngine and SolarCore Intelligent Game Acceleration Engine make sure users get the most out of the CPU.
The phones have triple cameras at the back in 64MP+13MP+5MP configurations and 20MP front cameras. The Black Shark 3 is powered by a 4,720mAh battery, while the Pro model relied on a 5000mAh battery for power. Both supports 65W fast charging that boot the phones from 0% to 100% within 35 minutes. 18W magnetic charge is also not left behind.
Good news, the new Black Shark gaming phones have 3.5mm audio jacks unlike their predecessors.
