Xiaomi at an event in China today launched the Mi Band 3, the successor of the Mi Band 2, featuring an OLED display and a larger battery capacity. The Mi Band 3 screen is nearly twice as large as the screen found on its predecessor, providing enough space for contents to be displayed and a higher screen visibility.
The wristband can now show more characters of alerts received from various social channels including Facebook and Whatsapp along with text messages, alarm, missed caller info, weather info and other notifications. It has an inbuilt heart rate sensor for monitoring heart rate and it is water resistant. According to Xiaomi, the Mi Band 3 can survive in up to 50 meters deep of water, making it suitable for swimming.

It features an 0.78-inch (128×80) OLED display with anti-fingerprint coating, protected by a scratch resistant glass. Apart from heart rate monitoring, the Mi Band 3 can also track steps, sleep, walk and other fitness exercise. It can be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth or NFC (with supports for contact-less payment), which is optional. When paired, users can reject incoming calls by long-pressing the physical button located below the screen without having to turn their phone on.
The device is powered by a 110mAh rechargeable Li-Polymer battery, rated to deliver up to 20 days of standby time.
The Mi Band 3 is themed in Black and it comes with three colorful band options, Hot Orange, Graphite Black, and Deep Blue. The Bluetooth model is priced at CNY 169 ($27), while the NFC model costs CNY 199 ($32). It will be available from June 5th.
