The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG has said it would not join the strike embarked on by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria over the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.
National Treasurer of NUPENG, Alex Agwanwor, who uncovered this during a program on 93.7 Rhythm in Port Harcourt communicated the confidence that the issues brought up in the memo would be tended to by the Federal Government.

Agwanwor who is the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Labor Congress, Rivers State section, said petroleum vendors had made sufficient import and capacity of petroleum commodities to guarantee there was no shortage of petroleum in Port Harcourt and its environs.
He approached the Federal Government to desperately address the issues raised by PENGASSAN to evade a compassion strike from NUPENG.
“We are as yet counseling at the public level to see the home advance to take as respects the on-going strike by our sister association,” he expressed.
“In any case, before this time, we had made appropriate course of action regarding assembling our individuals who are the big hauler drivers to ensure there is sufficient accessibility of petroleum goods to pad the deficiency in the importation of petroleum commodities inside this period to deflect any type of shortage.”
