The PUNCH had on Tuesday detailed that the NSF had been delayed till one year from now, as the service didn’t get an endorsement from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to hold the multi-sports rivalry.

Yet, on Thursday night, a choice was reached after a virtual gathering between the PTF, The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, and the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, that the occasion should hold in adherence to the COVID-19 conventions.

“There is another date for the National Sports Festival,” Joshua-Akanji revealed to The PUNCH.

“The occasion will hold from January 3-17.”

One of our reporters had assembled that a few competitors were arranging a dissent walk to the sports service on Monday over the moving of the sports festival.

The moving of the NSF to 2021 was the second time the sports service was moving the holiday after it was at first moved to December 3 to 18.

The NSF was at first charged to hold between March 22 to April 1 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin yet was delayed uncertainly because of COVID-19.

Himah said, “The competitors need to fight their future. Sports have a restricted age you can do it. From age 30, sports start to look insignificant to somebody in the event that the person in question has not accomplished.

“We beg the PTF for a pressing answer for keep away from the competitors meeting up on a tranquil dissent because of the narratives encompassing the NSF Edo 2020,”
