25 Million Nigerians To Pay N4,000 Monthly After The Installation Of FG Solar Home System

The 25 million Nigerians that will benefit from the Federal Government’s Solar Home Systems that begins this week will be asked to pay about N4,000 every month, the Presidency has said.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, unveiled this in an articulation on Sunday named “25m Nigerians to claim 5,000,000 solar systems at N4,000 month to month.”

Akande was giving further knowledge into prior reports that the Federal Government would start the cycle of installation of 5,000,000 solar home systems in underserved and off-lattice networks the nation over.

The installation is in continuation of the execution of the public authority’s Economic Sustainability Plan.

The prior report anyway evoked inquiries from Nigerians who needed to know the expense of claiming the solar system.

Akande clarified that recipients would be required to pay about N4,000 month to month over a time of three years.

He said the solar program nicknamed ‘Solar Power Naija’, for which installations begins in December, is being executed by the Rural Electrification Agency.

“A significant part of the plan is the alternative of out and out possession by recipients at a cost going from N1,500 every week to N4,000 month to month contingent upon the limits, for a time of three years,” Akande said.

He noticed that that the plan permitted upwards of 25 million Nigerians to possess individual solar systems in their homes.
