A man, Chimah Daniel Iweregbu has been jailed by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offenses Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos for involving in internet fraud.
This was reported in a statement on Monday by the spokesman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren.

The conviction comes three days after Lagos Zonal Office of the commission charged Iweregbu, following his arrest on August 12 for including in an online sentiment scam.
Preceding his capture, the convict is said to have been on the needed rundown of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
“The Lagos Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, December 4, 2020, made sure about the conviction of one Chimah Daniel Iweregbu, who is on the needed rundown of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, for participating in internet fraud before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offenses Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos,” the statement halfway read.
“He was charged on December 4, 2020, following his arrest by agents of the EFCC on August 12, 2020, for his association in an online romance scam.”
