A month after its initial debuts in China, Xiaomi today has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, Mi Mix 2, in India. The succesor of last year Mi Mix will be available exclusively on FlipKart and Mi store from October 17th and at select offline retail outlets in the region in first week of November.
The Mi Mix 2 has an ultra narrow side and top bezels that magnify the screen-to-body ratio to a notable range of 80.8%. Crammed between the bezels is a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160×1080) FullView display that touts an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The bottom bezel accommodate the front camera which is visible at the bottom right, touting a facial recognition 5MP sensor with 1080p video recording capability.

At the back of its ceramic-made body is a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, enhanced with Sony IMX386 sensor. Image stabilization is done optically via 4-axis OIS feature embedded within the camera lens and the camera can also record 4K video. Sitting right besides the camera is a dual-tone LED flash for lighting while a fingerprint sensor is located below for security.
The Mi Mix 2 that is released in India today comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform drives the phone hardware’s, coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box which should be upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo, and it offers dedicated dual SIM slots for standby dual use.
Connectivity options provided with the device are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 802.11ac (dual band + 2×2 Mu MIMO), GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS/Baidu, NFC, and USB Type-C. It has a slim body profile of 7.7mm in thickness and weighs just 185 grams. It is fuelled by a 3400mAh (typical) / 3300mAh (minimum) battery with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging.
The Mi Mix 2 6GB RAM+128GB storage will be sold in India for Rs 35,999 ($540).
