Amazon today has finally announced the new edition of its Fire TV that has been rumoured for a while. This offers supports for 4K (UHD) contents @60fps and High Dynamic Range (HDR) at a very low price when compared with previous model.

It has a compact plug-and-play rectangle-shaped body design with an output male-to-female HDMI mouth extended through a flexible flat cable that can be stick to a TV or a monitor that has HDMI function built-in. The Fire TV 2017 minimalistic design greatly lowered its weight, which is just 87 grams. In comparison, the 2015 model weighs 270 grams.

Apart from HDMI, the device also comes with WiFi 802.11ac (Dual Band + MIMO) and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless connectivity. Technically, it is powered by a quad-core Cortex A53 Amlogic chipset with 1.5GHz clock speed, coupled with Mali 450 MP3 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage.

Video formats supported are 2160p, 1080p, and 720p at up to 60fps, and H.265 and H.264 video codecs. In addition, it also supports Dolby Atmos, 7.1 Surround Sound, 2 channels stereo audio, and HDMI audio pass through (5.1).

The new Amazon Fire TV (2017) costs $69.99, making it the cheapest and the most affordable 4Ⓚ streaming device. It is available for pre-orders in the U.S via Amazon and will shipped from October 25.
