David Moyes 10th placed West Ham face off against Sean Dyche’s 17th placed Burnley, who are two points shy of 18th placed Brighton, today at the London Stadium by 4pm.
West Ham’s last five games reflect an upward surge in the team’s form. With a loss against Chelsea followed up by two draws to end the year, before 0-1 away victories against Everton and Stoke City.
Burnley on the other hand have won three and lost two in their last five games. With the team being selfish with giving goals away, conceding only four goals and scoring same in their last five premier league games.
However, the managers of the two clubs have shown respect for each other in their pre-match media interview.

With Burnley’s manager, Sean Dyche, praising the work of his opposite number on West Ham, saying:
“I’ve known David Moyes and his staff for a number of years. I don’t think there’s a massive surprise they’re having a solid season,” said the Burnley boss.
They will want to correct a little bumpy patch with not as many wins in the last six games.
But we never under-estimate anyone going down there and all that comes through that. It’s another challenge for us.”
West Ham manager, David Moyes also expressed admiration for the Clarets boss in his pre-match interview saying:
“I think it will be really tough. Over the years, I have to say, they’ve been a great success story, doing things on probably a minimum budget, not having the tools other clubs have maybe had over the years.
“The manager deserves a lot of credit for the way he’s done the work. Even though they’ve started a bit slowly, I think they’ll be fine.”
Despite the whole pleasantries, this is a match that promises to be short of pleasantries, as Burnley would be keenly contesting to win this match to gain grounds in the fight against relegation.
