Sheffield United had been winless  in 21 matches (D3 L18) before their consecutive victories in their previous two matches. It was the first time, the club would win consecutive games in all competitions, after 21 winless games. So, they would be hoping to win a third consecutive game as spirits are high.

Sheffield United also did not lose to Spurs in the two times they met last season, winning one and drawing one.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs are also going through a rough patch of their own in front of goal, after scoring 13 goals and winning their first four away league games this season, Spurs are winless in their last four on the road (D3 L1), netting just three goals in that run.

However, this team have been modified to a Jose Mourinho team, finding ways to win dirty too.

No side has scored more first-half goals than Tottenham in the Premier League this season (19), including a league-high eight goals in the opening 15 minutes of games. Spurs have also shipped fewer goals before half-time than any other Premier League side this term (4).

Under Jose Mourinho too, Spurs duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min seems to be reborn.

Between them, Spurs duo Harry Kane (24 shots) and Son Heung-min (19 shots) have had 43 of Spurs’ 81 shots on target in the Premier League this season (53%) – no other player at the club has had more than five so far. Kane and Son’s combined 43 shots on target is just nine fewer than Sheffield United have managed as a whole so far this term.

As much as optimism is brewing for this Sheffield side, this would be staked as an away win. With Leicester moving onto second with their win against Southampton, Jose Mourinho would want his Tottenham team to move to third or second with a massive win against Sheffield.

Though, Sheffield would be here to defend but then Jose Mourinho is the master of the dark arts, so trust Tottenham to find a win.
