Former Spanish international, Xabi Alonso returns to football after quite a time in absentia.
The 39 year old has just been appointed to be the manager of German Bundesliga side, Borussia Monchedgladbach by the summer.
Official sources have it that, “Xabi Alonso will be the new Borussia Moënchengladbach manager, the agreement has been reached – he’ll be joining the club from June and will take Marco Rose’s place.”

The former Spanish international who was a central midfielder in his playing days, would leave his role as the manager of Segunda Division side, Real Sociedad B by the summer.
Xabi Alonso started his playing career with Real Sociedad, although he had a loan stint with Eibar. He then captained Real Sociedad till he departed for Liverpool where he won the Champions League and FA Cup, before joining Real Madrid.
Alonso would later join Bayern Munich where he would play till he retired in 2016/2017 season. Many fans of Monchedgladbach would hope Alonso is the solution they all wished for.
