Google’s Android One project has been a success in most part of Asian and African countries in the past few years but its burning flame was lowered in recent months, we hardly heard about it this year, atleast since MWC when General Mobile refreshed its “GM” Android One phone line-up with GM6. Google has been thought to have abandoned the project, not anymore.

The Sharp X1 is mid-end in terms of specs as could be expected. It features a 5.3-inch IGZO display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution and underneath its display board is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor running at a speed of 1.4GHz. The processor is complimented with a 3GB of RAM for good multitasking and with Adreno 505 GPU for above-average graphics handling.

The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and comes pre-loaded with Google Assistant. Being on Google special project, it is guaranteed to receive updates consecutively for two years, this means it is upgradeable to Android O. Moving on, the X1 has a built-in storage of 32GB that can be expanded via MicroSD card. It is waterproof and dustproof certified, and there is fingerprint sensor beneath its home button that supports Android Pay.
