JAMB Subject Combination for law include the four subjects(English+3 other subjects) you are required to take in JAMB in order to qualify for admission.

Olevel requirements for law include the minimum grades you should have in WAEC/NECO/GCE in order to qualify for admission.

JAMB Subject Combination For Law

Now that you have decided to study law, I will show you the JAMB subject combination for Law. These are the subjects you are required to choose during JAMB registration.

  • Use of English(Compulsory).
  • Any three(3) Arts or Social Science subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION(WAIVER) REMARKS

1. BU, UNILORIN, UNN, UNIBEN, AAU and OAU require Literature in English plus any two (2) subjects.

2. UNILAG does not accept Music, Fine Arts, and Principles of Account and accepts either Economics or Commerce but not both.

3. UI – accepts Science subjects.

4. DELSU and ABU require Literature in English and any other Arts or Social Science subjects.

WAEC/O’Level Requirements For Law

If you want to study Law, the minimum O’level requirement for Law and Subject needed can be found below.

  • English Language (Minimum:credit)
  • Mathematics (Minimum:credit)
  • Literature in English (Minimum:credit)
  • Any other 2 subjects (Minimum:credit)

You require; Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNN does not require mathematics, Fine Art or Local languages.

2. UI requires 5 ‘O’ level Credits passes at one sitting or six ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sitting to include English Language, Lit-in-English any other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Science.

3. UNIUYO, MADONNA, BIU, IMSU and UNIBEN accept a pass in Mathematics.

4. AAU and NAU require a credit in one science subject and one Commercial subject and at least a pass in Mathematics.

5. BSU accepts any other three Arts/Social Science. subjects

6. UNILAG requires the Five O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Lit. in English and one of Arts or Social Science subject.

7. ESUTECH requires credit passes in Mathematics or Science subject.

8. UNIJOS credit pass in Mathematics is not compulsory.

9. OAU requires Five “O” level credit passes to include English Language and Literature in English.

10. ABUAD requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Maths, Literature in English and two other subjects from Arts or Social Science at one sitting.

11. NDU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Maths, Literature in English and any other two subjects in not more than two sittings.

12. BU – requires five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and three other Arts subjects at not more than two sittings.

13. UMYU requires five credit passes at SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language, English Literature and any other three Social Science or Arts subject with a pass in Mathematics in not more than two sittings.

14. KSU requires five credit passes at SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language, English Literature and any other three Sciences, Social Sciences or Arts subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements For Law

Below is the direct entry requirements for Law:

1. Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects.

2. NCE/ND/First Degree (Second Class Lower).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

1. AAU does not accept NCE.

2. UNIMAID requires two ‘A’ levels from Government, Literature in English and Religious Studies.

3. AAU does not accept any Diploma and NCE but accepts only first degree (minimum of 2.2) plus the ‘O’ level requirements.

4. IMSU does not offer Direct Entry admission into law.

5. UNICAL:
(a) does not accept any Diploma/NCE.
(b) accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects in one sitting.
(c) accepts first Degree (second class lower) in Arts or Social Science

6. ANSU do not require English Literature for degree holders.

7. UNIBEN requires UTME requirements plus two ‘A’ level passes; HND (Lower credit) and NCE with credit passes in two Teaching subjects; Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division.

8. RSUST and OAU accept First Degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours plus UTME requirements, but does not accept NCE/ND/HND.

9. UNIJOS accepts any Class of first Degree but does not accept NCE, ND, HND.

10. UNIUYO does not accept IJMB Mathematics and/or any other Science subject.

11. UNILAG accepts:
(a) very good passes in JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Lit-in English two other subjects one or both from Arts or Social Science and MADONNA accept own Diploma in Law.

12. First Degree (second class upper division) or two ‘A’ level papers in any subject plus UTME requirements.

13. ANSU accepts GCE, ‘A’ level or HSC passes in two subjects plus credit level passes in three ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Mathematics, English Lit plus UTME requirement. First Degree Holders with at ;least Second Class Lower.

14. AAUA requires credit passes in Literature-in-English and Mathematics.

15. BIU requires in addition to the O level requirements specified , a minimum of two relevant subjects passed at GCE Advanced level or NCE (3 merits).

16. UI accepts two paper at Advance Level plus Credit in five/six other ‘O level subjects including English Language and Literature in English. Accepts also a good First Degree with Credit in English Language at ‘O’ level.

17. BIU accepts ‘A’ level/NCE (three merits) in relevant discipline not below credit level plus O Level requirements.

18. OAU accepts First Degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours plus UTME requirements.

19. UNIOSUN accepts:
(a) three (3) papers at Principal level in Higher School Certificate or GCE Advanced level together with credit passes in not less than five other subjects including in English Language and Literature in English in the SSS Certificate Examination or GCE “O” Level examination or their equivalent, or
(b) A University degree of Osun State University, in a relevant discipline – of not less than a Second Class Lower Division or any other recognised University in a relevant discipline..

20. RSUST accepts only candidates with first Degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours in addition to O’ level requirements.

21. BU accepts:
(a) three (3) papers at Principal level in Higher School Certificate or GCE Advanced level together with credit passes in not less than five other subjects including in English Language and Literature in English in the SSS Certificate Examination or GCE “O” Level examination or their equivalent, or
(b) A University degree of not less than a Second Class Lower Division plus credits in English Language and Literature in English at O’ level, or
(c) At least two (2) papers at G.C.E. Advanced level or its equivalent plus three (3) ‘O’ level papers including English Language and Literature in English at O’ level.

22. NDU accepts:
a. At least 2 passes at Advance GCE level in relevant subject or its equivalent subjects.
b. The General Certificate of Education ‘O’ level (GCE) or its equivalent in five (5) subjects at credit passes in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics. Plus at least Second Class Honours degree of this University or any other University recognized by Senate.

23. CUAB accepts:
(a) A degree
(b) Mature students with experience in related fields who possess basic requirements in
(c) shall be considered who for admission.

24. UMYU requires:
a. two A level credit passes in any Art or Social Science subject.
b. At least 9 points in the acceptable subject combination in IJMB.
c. A Bachelor’s Degree in any Discipline with at least a Second Class Lower.

    I have 9 credict in my neco and 4 in waec pls

    1. Use your NECO and apply for UI or UNN. Both do not use O’level result as part of aggregate.

      You just need to score very high in JAMB and Post UTME. You will enter.

      Your O’level (credits) might be a disadvantage if you apply for OAU or UNILAG that use O’level as aggregate.

      You can also apply to state universities too.

  2. I did not register/do government in WAEC,so which subject can I use to replace it for LAW course
