Sharp is all set to announce a new smartphone on Tuesday according to an invite sent out by the firm, which also confirmed the said smartphone will be as bezel-less as possible. The device dubbed AQUOS S2, will be mid-end in terms of specifications while its charismatic all-view front screen will be its major highlight.
There has been rumors in the past few days, the phone also showed up in benchmarks with some of its specs highlighted. The AQUOS S2 is said to come with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.95%, leaving just 15.5% for the bezels for people to rest their fingers on. This however will not compromise the overall body length and width of the device—Sharp said the AQUOS S2 will be as compact as a 5-inch phone. Earlier benchmark leaks revealed the display to be 5.5-inch and the resolution to be 2048×1080 pixel.

The front camera and earpiece are embedded underneath the phone glass screen and holes carved in the screen to make them appear on the surface, thanks to Free Form Display (FFD) technology. Also, the AQUOS S2 will be sporting a dual camera setup on the back. According to renders that surfaced online recently, the duo camera will be vertically-aligned, each camera harboring a 12-megapixel sensor.
The phone will runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, comes with an under-glass fingerprint sensor, and includes 4GB of RAM. We should know more when it launch tomorrow at 2:00PM CST.
