Burnley vs Fulham becomes Fulham’s second match to be postponed due to COVID – 19

Burnley’s match against Fulham on Sunday at the Turf Moor has been postponed due to cases of COVID – 19.

This comes after a similar situation which involved Tottenham, with Tottenham head coach, Jose Mourinho commenting about the situation even going on Instagram to cause a roar due to the way the announcement was made.

Fulham had then made a request to the Premier League board regarding their health condition, with the board taking a decision at the eleventh hour to call off the game.

Several clubs at the time appeared to be unhappy with the decision especially as some of them had been forced to play 2 games in three days.

The Premier League have released an official statement as regards the postponement of the game.

Fulham has however released a club statement saying, “”Following further new positive results returned from the most recent Covid-19 tests, the Club can confirm that this Sunday’s away fixture at Burnley has been postponed after discussions with the Premier League and advice from medical teams.”

“Those who tested positive are self-isolating in line with UK Government and Premier League guidance.

Burnley vs Fulham now becomes the fourth official Premier League match to be cancelled this season due to the deadly COVID – 19.
