FG Plans To Lift 100 Million Nigerians From Poverty – Minister

Alhaji Suleiman Adamu, the Minister of Water Resources, says that the Federal Government intends to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years.

Adamu said this at the second version of the Nigerian Media Water week in Abuja on Monday.

He said the ministry, through its water projects, would quickly track job creation by upgrading food security through irrigation farming.

The minister said the focal points and significance of water couldn’t be overemphasized as it was essential for irrigation farming, cleanliness, and job creation.

He said for the ministry to convey on its command, it has been teaming up with the Federal Executive Council.

Adamu said that Nigeria presently has 13 expresses that are Open Defecation Free because of its water projects adding that 10 million Nigerians currently approach decent water gracefully.

He said that the ministry was unequivocally in collaboration with partners to kill Open Defecation by 2025 through its water projects.

Adamu said that the Ministry was additionally working together with ladies in irrigation farming to lighten poverty in the nation.

He lauded the broad communications for their help through their reportage, underlining that they had significantly edified Nigerians on the advantages of water.
