Google Pixel 2 with Snapdragon 835 Officially Announced, Price Starts at $649

Google has finally announced Pixel 2 at a special event organized by the company in San Francisco, its first high-end smartphone in 2017 and the succesor of Pixel that was launched around this time last year. It features a 5-inch AMOLED display that touts a pixel resolution of 1920×1080, while it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset, Qualcomm’s most powerful processor.

The Pixel 2 body is made of metal (aluminium to be precise). It runs Android 8.0 Oreo OS out-of-the-box and is water and dust resistance certified with IP67 rating. Located at the front and clearly visible on the top and bottom bezel of the display are two stereo speakers for immersive audio. Built-in Google Assistant feature can be activate by squeezing the edge of the device.

The phone has a single 12MP camera at the back with a large f/1.8 aperture for taking great picture in low-light, while an 8MP camera is equipped at the front. The rear camera can record video in 4K and the front camera in 1080p. At the back below the camera is a fingerprint sensor for smart security and authentication.

Google is offering the Pixel 2 in 64GB and 128GB storage versions, both accompanied with 4GB of RAM. 3.5mm audio jack is not present.

The 64GB storage version is priced at $649, while the 128GB storage version costs $749. It will be available in select markets including the U.S, U.K, Canada, Australia, Germany, India, Singapore, and Spain later this year.
