The sponsor of the bill, Mr. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, said the bill looked to address the disarray in what Abuja and FCT implied.
Addressing journalists, Abiante stated, “In the event that you experience those areas that require modifications, a portion of the individuals who composed the laws needed information on science or arithmetic. There is what is known as a state and a sub-state. Where is Abuja and where is the FCT? You state the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Is Abuja inside the FCT or the FCT is inside Abuja? Let us characterize it. That is the thing that we need to know. On the off chance that they are the equivalent, told us so we can have the right terminology.”
