How to Apply for company TIN Number (Online & FIRS office)
You will need to go to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) office which is closest to you for your company TIN number registration. You will be given the TIN number registration form at any FIRS office nationwide.

If the company is a registered business name and it yet to be incorporated you may be requested to present a VAT number before you are able to apply for a TIN number.

- Memorandum & Articles of Association (two copies)

How to Apply for Individual TIN Number
Base on the information made public on the Joint Tax Board’s website, all individuals who already have a Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN) are expected to have had a TIN number automatically generated for them. To be sure, you can use the JTB TIN Registration System to verify if you already have a TIN number, follow the steps below to check:
- Open up your internet-connected smartphone or PC and visit https://tin.jtb.gov.ng/
- Click on the TIN verification portal circle
- On the next screen is the TIN Registration Search Panel, select your correct date of birth as in your BVN and NIN
- There are three search criteria, pick one of TIN or NIN or BVN or Registered Phone Number
- Enter the correct value for the criteria chosen, for example, if you have chosen BVN you are expected to key your correct BVN number
- Use the reCAPTCHA Box to confirm you’re human
- Click on the green search button
