HTC has just announced U Ultra, its first high-end smartphone in 2017 in Taiwan, as expected today. The new device which is launched under the company’s “U series” of products comes with dual display; a larger 5.7-inch S-LCD 5 display with Quad-HD resolution, and a secondary 2.0-inch touch display that offers smart notification view and menu options.
The phone front and back are endow in glass with curvature to give it a premium feel, while it is girdle around the edges in aluminium for solidity. The U Ultra is pre-loaded with HTC new software called “Sense Companion”. The software which is based on AI (Artificial Intelligence), learns about users and offers them intelligent suggestions based on activities carried out on their device.

Another major feature is its ability to record 3D audio. This is made possible through four omnidirectional noise-cancelling microphones included which HTC clearly emphasis are “Always On”. The company have follow Apple footstep and has decided to remove the common traditional 3.5mm audio jack, instead it includes a USB Type-C port with audio-out capability. The HTC U Ultra comes in two storage options, 64GB and 128GB, both expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD card.
The 128GB storage version comes with Sapphire glass protection on top of the main display, while the 64GB storage version is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Android 7.0 Nougat governs all software activities.

The HTC U Ultra 64GB storage version is priced at NT$ 23,900 (US$753), and the 128GB storage version at NT$ 28,900 (US$911). It will be available starting today January 12 on HTC website.
