Huawei has launched Honor 6X, the company’s latest smartphone in “Honor” series at an event organized by the firm in China today. Though it poses no threat to other flagships out there judging by its specs, the price it carries might be a challenge in tough markets. Just like other of it’s family, the Honor 6X is fully wrapped in a metal unibody that is slightly thick at 8.2mm and bears a weight of 162 grams.

It features a 5.5-inch IPS 2.5D curved glass display with full-HD (1920×1080) resolution and pixel density of 401ppi. The phone comes in two variants, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, both packing a 64-bit 2.0GHz octa-core Kirin 655 chipset coupled with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.
The Honor 6X comes with hybrid dual SIM slots that enables the second SIM slot to be use as a MicroSD slot. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow layed on top with EMUI 4.1 and sports a fingerprint sensor below the camera at the back. One of the most notable feature of this device are dual vertically-aligned cameras it packs behind, the first flaunting a 12-megapixel sensor with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) while the other is a 2-megapixel camera for measuring depth field. A single LED flash is placed besides these cameras for great night capture.
Apart from the rear cameras, the Honor 6X also comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfie. Connectivity options included with the device are Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi with Hotspot, 4G LTE + VoLTE, 3G, 2G, GPS/A-GPS and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3340mAh/2750mAh battery with fast charging support.

The phone is available for pre-orders in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, Grey, and Blue colors and will start shipping from October 25. No details regarding global availability.
