Huawei has officially debuted the first 2018 edition of its Y series smartphone, the Y9 (2018), in Thailand, with upgraded specs and a new body design, when compared with its predecessor. The smartphone possess the modern 18:9 display that boasts of Full HD+ (2160×1080) resolution. The elongated IPS display is placed inside a 5.93-inch screen with touch-sensitive layer on top.
Powering the hardware is an octa-core Kirin 659 processor running at a speed of 2.36GHz, clubbed with 3GB of RAM; while Mali-T830 MP2 GPU handles the graphics. There is a 32GB of storage onboard with an option to expand it via a MicroSD card slot provided. Android 8.0 Oreo governs the software with EMUI laid on top.

In photography, the Y9 (2018) has a total of four cameras; two at the back and two at the front. The dual rear cameras are horizontally-aligned in 16MP+2MP configuration, while 13MP+2MP dual camera resides at the front camera. These are capable of recording 1080p videos.
The usual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G, 2G, and GPS connectivity are included while a 4000mAh battery powered the device on.
Huawei is yet to reveal the phone pricing and availability details.
