Ibrahim Magu, the suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has said he never took, occupied, or converted recovered funds for his private use while he held influence as the top of the antigraft organization.
Magu said this in an interview with The Nation not long after he was allowed bail and discharged from detainment following 10 days.

Magu said the claims of debasement against him are simply to tarnish his image and that of the EFCC.
“They are gibberish. They are insignificant trump up charges to tarnish my image and that of the EFCC. I didn’t take or occupy or convert assets to private use. I read the claims and I was stunned.
Talking further, he promised to keep on pursuing a war against corruption.
“We must continue to fight against corruption nonetheless. I encourage Nigerians to keep on supporting the battle against corruption. They should not abandon the battle since corruption kills a country quicker than any other thing.
It’s anything but an individual battle. Regardless of whether I am EFCC Chairman or not, the counter defilement war must proceed.
What I have experienced is an instance of pooch eats hound however I consider it to be one of those dangers of the activity. Be that as it may, we should not surrender at all.”
Magu was arrested on Monday, July 6, and made to appear before the Justice Ayo Salami-led presidential board following charges of corruption leveled against him by the Minister of Aviation and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
