Intex new wearable can track heart rate, fitness, and control music playlist

The India-based technology firm Intex, has made a new addition under its wearable products called FitRist Cardio. The new device, which is the third of its kind in Intex “FitRist” series comes with a heart rate monitor as the “Cardio” in its naming implies, which simply means cardiograph.

The smartband can monitor wearer’s heart-rate in real-time and display it on its compact screen. Beneath the screen is an 0.86-inch OLED display with 96×32 pixel resolution that can also shows incoming calls and text notifications when paired with a smartphone running Android 4.4+ or iOS 7+, thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity onboard. Notably, Intex also claimed that its new wearable can alert users of Facebook and Whatsapp notifications.

Intex FitRist Cardio on wrist

Furthermore, when paired with a smartphone, it can be use to control music playlist and can act as the shutter button in taking picture. Besides its heart rate monitoring, the FitRist Cardio can also be use as a fitness tracker. It has the ability to track steps, calories, sleep and distance covered, though it lacks GPS.

Other features included are Hydration Alarm and Anti-Loss. The device measures 12.6×20.9×146-210mm, weighs 26 grams, and is powered by an 80mAh Li-Polymer battery that can deliver up to 7 days of standby time. The Intex FitRist Cardio is available exclusively on Amazon India in Black color at a price of Rs 1,499 ($22).
