It hasn’t been long when LG announced its first modular smartphone, G5, but something new is here under same umbrella. The LG G5 SE as named is listed on the company Russia webpage, posing same sleek metal body as its brother. While the “SE” can be define as Special Edition, though it is not officially claimed, things take a turn in its hardware aspect. Unlike G5, the G5 SE is driven by a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset instead of Snapdragon 820, while the RAM has been slightly tune down from 4GB to 3GB. Also, 4G LTE is missing which is quite strange considering the processor. But surprisingly, it still maintains the 5.3-inch Quad-HD (2560×1440) Quantum display.
With the above-average performing processor we expect something like full-HD and a slightly less screen size, but then LG thinks the processor should be able to handle the QHD just fine, just as Snapdragon 820, which we doubt considering “other aspects” of the device. It is not known yet if it will support “Friends” and other modular accessories, but it should. In physical appearance it look just like G5, and besides the changes in processor, RAM and connectivity, all other specifications remains the same.
