Meizu has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone MX5 at an event that takes place in China today. The Meizu MX5 will be available for pre-orders starting from Tuesday with a price tag of CN¥ 1799 ($291 USD) for 16GB version, CN¥ 1999 ($321 USD) for 32GB version, and CN¥ 2399 ($286 USD) for 64GB version, and will start shipping from 5th of July in China followed by other regions.
The device has rumored earlier comes in a full metallic body lined with magnesium allow frame, which weight it down to 149 grams. It sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 500 nits brightness. The Meizu MX5 is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) processor with a clock speed of 2.2GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU.

The embedded physical home button below the screen is layed underneath with mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition sensor for mobile payment with mPay and for smart security. Also, the home button is touch-sensitive and can react differently based on how it is pressed. At the rear, the smartphone houses a 20.7-megapixel camera with laser auto focus, Sony Exmor RS sensor, and twin toned-LED flash, capable of recording 4K (2560p) videos, while it is equipped with a 5-megapixel selfie-enabled camera at the front.
The device runs Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box and offers dual-SIM functionality with both SIM supporting 4G LTE. Other connectivity options include 3G (HSPA+), Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It is backed by a 3150mAh battery.
The Meizu MX5 is skinned in Silver, Grey, and Gold colors.
