Microsoft step on the stage and got the crowd cheering with two new Lumia smartphones, the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. We’ve been waiting for Microsoft to get up to the stage at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) and finally they do. The Lumia 640 is priced at €139 ($155 USD) for 3G version and €159 ($177 USD) for LTE version while the Lumia 640 XL is priced at €189 ($211 USD) for 3G version and €219 ($245 USD) for LTE version. Both smartphones will starting shipping from April.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Denim update out-of-the-box which the firm claims is upgradeable to Windows 10. Microsoft also offers free 1 year Office 365 subscription, 60 minutes Skype call and 1TB OneDrive storage with every purchase. Both smartphones will comes in dual-SIM variants which will support two SIMs at a time.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch ClearBlack IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the device is driven by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

There’s an 8GB built-in storage onboard which is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 1-megapixel front camera for video chat. On the connectivity front, the Lumia 640 support Bluetooth, Wifi, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, GPS/A-GPS, 4G LTE, Micro-USB, and FM radio. It is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
On the other hand, the Lumia 640 XL features a larger 5.7-inch HD (720p) IPS ClearBlack display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz topped with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with an 8GB internal storage that is expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card and offers Bluetooth, Wifi, 3G, 4G LTE, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, FM radio and Micro-USB as connectivity options.
The Lumia 640 XL sports a high-res 13-megapixel camera with LED flash at the back while it is also equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs a 3000mAh battery.
